Assistant Professor- Machining Technology Overland Park Main Campus
JCCC is seeking a qualified candidate for Assistant Professor to build and teach a new Machining Technology program. This candidate is expected to serve as a content expert in all machining related courses. Responsibilities include developing curriculum and teaching all aspects of machining technology including theory, methods, materials, print reading, measurement, inspection, manual machining and CNC machining in accordance with KBOR requirements. Most courses include laboratory and lecture sections, will initially be offered during the day and eventually evening hours as the program grows.

Serves as a liaison between the AAC & LRC and academic departments, customizing tutoring need per discipline. Advertises tutoring services across campus through written, online, and in-person content. Communicates with campus partners to provide a holistic approach to student success. Assists in the daily operations of the Academic Achievement Center and Language Resource Center and provides support to the Director when necessary.
Coordinator of Student Life Overland Park Main Campus
The Coordinator of Student Life is a part of the Center for Student Involvement team, within the Student Life Department. The Coordinator is responsible for the leadership and supervision of Student Life Student Staff, operation of the Student Lounge and student engagement spaces, coordination of student events and programming, co-advisement of Student Senate, and support of Student Life and campus student initiatives.

JCCC is located in Overland Park, KS, the second largest city in the state of Kansas and part of the greater Kansas City Metro. JCCC is looking for a diverse pool of applicants for a full-time faculty position in the ASL & Deaf Studies Department to teach Elementary and Intermediate ASL courses including Fingerspelling, Introduction to the Deaf Community, the Linguistics of ASL, and/or ASL Literature courses. The ASL & Deaf Studies Department offers an ASL Studies Certificate and ASL courses that serve as preparation for students to continue their education in bachelor’s degree programs. The department is part of the Communications Division.
Senior Tutor, ASL Overland Park Main Campus
Provide one on one instruction in ASL courses in the Language Resource Center. Assist walk-in students from all disciplines with interventions and strategies to learn effectively in all content areas. Other tasks will include individualizing instruction, diagnosing learning barriers, and constructing student learning plans. May also include directing students to needed campus resources and responding to online requests for class support, as well as rectifying software issues.

They work with the Director of Strategic Marketing Planning to develop a strategic public relations plan to drive earned media mentions. They collaborate with others on the marketing team to define and pursue an approach that supports the College’s mission, vision, values and strategic goals. They identify campus initiatives, achievements and student stories that can act as proof points to build a broad understanding of JCCC and its value in the community.
Manager Benefits and Wellness Overland Park Main Campus
The Benefits and Wellness Manager is responsible for the management, administration, design, review, day-to-day benefits administration, escalated customer support challenges and communication of JCCC’s comprehensive employee benefit and wellness programs. Evaluates and supervises the subordinate benefits personnel. The position serves as a subject matter expert on current and pending Federal and state legislation, regulations, guidelines on employee benefits and serves in an advisory capacity to the college administration in matters of policy interpretation, regulatory changes, and technical benefit issues.
Center for Sustainability Social Media and Outreach Intern Overland Park Main Campus
This internship is designed to provide a student at JCCC practical experience working to promote sustainability-related events and work on campus. Activities will include marketing of sustainability-related programming and recruitment of peers to sustainability leadership roles. Participate in event planning with student life (others) to facilitate sustainability in all aspects of their events, and offer support for recycling and composting at events when needed. Marketing reuse through ROSE store and surplus postings.
Custodian Overland Park Main Campus
A Custodian independently performs general cleaning duties to promote cleanliness, health, and safety in campus buildings and facilities, which includes cleaning carpets, hard surfaces, restrooms, furnishings, and office supplies, and collecting and disposing of trash, recycling, and other waste products.

The selected candidates will teach 15 credit hours per semester in Computer Science and Information Systems with January 2024 start. Current department needs include teaching courses in data analytics and programming. Additional duties expected of full-time faculty include maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; training faculty in new curriculum as needed; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; developing and maintaining relationships with industry and academic partners; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. Instructor-Adult Basic Education/GED Preparation-onsite-Corrections Overland Park Main Campus
Provide learner-centered instruction onsite in a Corrections environment for basic literacy and math through high school equivalency/college readiness skills in reading, writing, math computation, applied math, science, and social studies in preparation for taking the 2014 GED® exam. Create individual education plans for each learner and monitor progress toward passing the 2014 GED® exam. Instruct students one-on-one and in small groups. Guide and supervise the ongoing study. Engage community volunteers to assist with one-on-one instruction with learners. Create reports and maintain records. Participate in professional development events.
