Position Summary: Coordinate, organize, and maintain hospitality management classrooms and kitchen laboratories at Johnson County Community College (JCCC).
Required Qualifications:
- Mid-level support role.
- Completes assignments with little supervision.
- May assist less-experienced team members.
- Typically requires 1+ years of related experience.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Monitor inventory levels for kitchen supplies to ensure necessary stock is maintained for instructional purposes. Perform periodic review of inventory stock, recording quantity, type, and value of materials on hand. Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies.
- Receive and organize kitchen equipment, materials, and supplies on a regular basis within the storeroom. Ensure ovens, mixers, blenders, stoves, grills, exhaust hoods, fryers, and other kitchen equipment and appliances function properly.
- Prepare and set up kitchen laboratories and classrooms on a daily basis, ensuring faculty and students have the materials, equipment, utensils, ingredients, and supplies needed to conduct class.
- Perform quality control tasks to ensure the kitchen laboratories are in good working order. Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment and tools. Sharpen knives and conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment.
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain kitchen areas to create a functional and organized environment conducive to culinary learning. Wash all kitchen tools and ensure all cutlery and crockery are stored in the correct location.
- Properly dispose of contaminated or spoiled materials in compliance with waste disposal and food safety standards.
- Organize and assist during program-specific campus-wide events, including: • Planning of event details • Securing resources • Creating/disseminating resources for the event • Assisting with setup • Problem-solving on the day of the event • Post-event wrap-up
- Provide support to Hospitality Management faculty for educational activities and demonstrations. Troubleshoot any issues or concerns that arise.
- Identify, escalate, and report any health and safety hazards or concerns and ensure safety guidelines are communicated and followed.
- Maintain records and documentation of health and safety protocols and inspections.
