Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week

Pay Range:  $97,300.00-$129,300.00 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Develop, implement, and monitor initiatives, policies, and programs that maximize inclusion and bolster diversity, equity, and belonging on the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) campus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognized as subject matter expert and advanced individual contributor professional.
  • Requires specialized skill set.
  • Conducts highly complex work, unsupervised and with extensive latitude for independent judgment.
  • Requires a bachelor's or master's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to JCCC’s mission, vision, and values through the development and implementation of evidence-based and research-backed methods and practices that foster a workplace that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Develop and drive the overall Inclusion & Belonging strategy, collaborating with senior leaders to integrate a culture of inclusion and belonging into JCCC’s operations and decision-making processes. Serve as a campus-wide expert in JCCC’s ongoing efforts to embrace a holistic culture of diversity and engage an equity mindset.
  • Act as a resource to employees in their work to improve student success in both credit and non-credit settings. Partner with campus leaders and teams across campus in evaluating inclusion and belonging goals, programs, and activities.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations regarding closing student equity gaps. Maximize access to and utilization of JCCC resources for all students and collaborate in initiatives to increase retention and completion rates.
  • Develop strong relationships internally across JCCC to build trust and credibility and to gain influence. Assist and support leaders in planning, developing, and taking action to promote inclusion and belonging for all constituents of the college. Provide resources, training, and tools that promote inclusion and belonging initiatives and objectives.
  • Partner with JCCC leaders in developing metrics to measure the effectiveness of JCCC’s inclusion and belonging efforts. Research strategies of inclusion and belonging in leading institutions of higher education. Share findings and make recommendations to the President, members of the Cabinet, and other college leaders.
  • Participate and collaborate with leaders across campus to embed inclusion and belonging in activities and processes such as: • faculty, staff, and student education and training; • employee recruitment, retention, and promotion; • procurement and other business practices; • internal and external communication and marketing; • and any other activity that promotes equity and belonging and enhances cultural competency campus-wide. 
  • Serve as a resource to support college partnerships in the community that promote equitable student access and success. Support opportunities to work more closely with K-12 students, transfer colleges and universities, and other community partners to improve student success.
  • Analyze emerging trends and identify and leverage industry best practices to continuously enhance the effectiveness of Inclusion & Belonging programs.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to Inclusion & Belonging staff in day-to-day operations. Coach team members through issues or escalations. Establish clearly defined goals, objectives, responsibilities, competencies, and development plans. Lead in a way that continuously promotes collaboration and innovation.
  • Partner closely with team members across Human Resources to enhance focus on the attraction, acquisition, retention, and development of a diverse workforce.
