Position Summary: JCCC is searching for Assistant Professor, Game Development position. This position requires expertise in game programming and design. The selected candidate will teach 15 credit hours per semester in Game Development with a January 2024 start.
Additional responsibilities will be to perform other duties expected of full-time faculty, including maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; training faculty in new curriculum as needed; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; developing and maintaining relationships with industry and academic partners; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments could be any combination of face to face (day or evening), hybrid or online, and are subject to change as needed.
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Game Development field
-Familiar with Game Engines (and willing to learn the Unity Game Engine)
-Comfortable adopting new technologies and a desire to create/deliver effective online content
-Understand the importance to adapt to the changing landscape of higher education
-Comfortable collaborating with faculty and students from other disciplines as well as with industry and community partners
-Experience with C# or similar
-Experience contributing to team projects, demonstrating professional time management
Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge of the Unity Game Engine
-Teaching/training experience
-Experience with game development
-Experience developing teaching/training content
-Practical experience in artificial intelligence
-Industry experience in Agile development and/or project management
