Johnson County Community College is looking for a diverse pool of applicants to increase its adjunct pool in the Legal Studies Department. This position requires on-campus teaching, but may also include online teaching.
The Legal Studies Department consists of two programs: the ABA-approved Paralegal program and the Business Law program.
Faculty in the Legal Studies adjunct pool teach the equivalent of 0-10 credit hours per semester in Business Law, the ABA-approved Paralegal Program, or both. Adjunct faculty may teach both online and on-campus classes, but ability to teach on the Overland Park, KS campus is required. Instruction should be engaging, experiential, motivating, and effective.
Effective teaching requires, at a minimum
- content expertise;
- sound instructional methods drawn from the scholarship of teaching and learning and from practical experience in the legal field;
- successful communication, including timely and substantive feedback; and
- meeting institutional expectations related to class meetings, availability to students, attendance gathering, syllabi preparation and distribution, grading and maintenance of grade records, confidentiality of records, timely responses to requests for information, and other expectations of the College.
- fulfilling stated College policies and procedures, including completion of mandatory training;
- attending and participating in required meetings
- exercising stewardship in the use of College facilities and materials;
- submitting information or materials related to assigned duties as requested by College administrators or peers in a timely manner
- working as an effective team member;
- maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
Candidates who would like to be considered should submit materials prior to the review date, along with responses to these questions:
1. Provide a list of classes taught and indicate for each (a) where it was taught, (b) when it was taught, (c) the approximate size of the class, and (d) whether it was taught on campus, online, or in a hybrid format.
2. Provide a statement describing your experience working either with paralegals or as a paralegal (required for those who teach in the Paralegal program).
Adjunct Assistant Professor, Fashion Merchandising and Design

FASH 231 – Merchandising Planning and Control
Course Description:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to describe the management structure of retail merchandising operations, contrast merchandising functions among various types of retail operations, explain the buying process, explain the financial operations of retail merchandising and apply these principles in computer-simulated case situations. 3 hrs. lecture/wk. This course is typically taught in the spring semester.

Adjunct Faculty, HVAC

The ideal candidate for Adjunct Assistant Professor HVAC, will have working knowledge and experience working with heat pumps, furnaces, and air conditioning equipment. This position requires the availability to teach between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Monday and Wednesday nights OR Tuesdays and Thursday nights.

Adjunct Professor-Chinese

The Foreign Language department is seeking a Chinese adjunct professor to teach Elementary level Chinese language. JCCC is located in Overland Park, KS, the second largest city in the state of Kansas and part of the greater Kansas City Metro. The Kansas City Metro is known for its museums, restaurants, and music and art scenes. JCCC is similarly dedicated to creating and maintaining a rich cultural community, with an award-winning contemporary art museum and center for the performing arts located on campus.
JCCC is looking for a diverse pool of applicants for a part-time adjunct faculty position in the Foreign Language Department to serve as a substitute or teach Elementary Chinese in the day or evening in the summer, spring or fall semesters on campus or on Zoom. The Foreign Language Department is part of the Communications Division. Many of our students are non-traditional, military veterans, immigrants, international and first-generation college students. JCCC has a diverse student population and is dedicated to increasing its diversity.
The successful applicant for this job may teach the equivalent of 5-10 credit hours or serve as a substitute professor. This person will perform other duties expected of adjunct faculty, to include collaborating and working successfully with other full-time and adjunct faculty in the Foreign Language department and other duties as assigned.
Additional possible responsibilities:
Provide extra and co-curricular opportunities for Chinese language students.
Participate in the planning and administration of all departmental initiatives.
Participate in on-campus events promoting languages.
Complete ACTFL and/or other departmental training.
Candidates will be interviewed using Zoom and will be asked to teach a 30 minute class using Zoom.

The Adjunct Assistant Professor, EMS, is responsible for facilitating class lectures, labs,
and clinical instruction of adult college students and/or high school students for EMR
and/or EMT ( EMS121, 128, 131,133 and 140) initial courses of instruction.
EMT Lab Clinician
Overland Park Main Campus
Psychomotor instruction- Lab Clinicians are responsible for assessing, reviewing and correcting student performance within the psychomotor domain in small group settings.
Equipment maintenance- Lab Clinicians are required to be responsible stewards of JCCC and program equipment and facilities
Ability to work 5-10 hours per week (during scheduled lab times).
Paramedic Lab Clinician

Paramedic Lab Clinicians are responsible for assisting with the instructional needs of EMS course laboratory sessions. This position works is eligible to work within all EMS courses with lab.
