Starting Salary Range:  $18.63 - $23.84 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: The Coordinator, Fan and Community Engagement connects JCCC Athletics with Student Life, the College community, and community partners to strengthen school spirit and enhance the overall student experience. This position leads fan engagement and supports game-day operations for home athletic events while developing promotions, themed events, and other experiences that increase student, employee, alumni, family, and community participation. The Coordinator also plans athletic special events and recognition programs, builds collaborative partnerships across the College and community, and supports outreach efforts. Additional responsibilities include coordinating marketing, social media, digital branding, and event signage; assessing attendance and engagement to inform future programming; and supporting budget management, vendor contracts, and related administrative operations.

This position is apart of the Student Life and Leadership Department and works Athletics, coaches, student organizations, College departments, community partners, performers, and vendors to create safe, welcoming, and engaging experiences that connect JCCC Athletics to the broader College community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree. 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Position details include but are not limited to:

  • Game-Day Operations & Fan Experience:
    • Support game-day operations and lead fan-engagement activities for all JCCC home athletic events.
    • Develop student nights, themed events, and interactive promotions that increase student, employee, family, alumni, and community participation.
    • Coordinate with Student Life, Athletics staff, coaches, facilities personnel, Campus Police, performers, vendors, and other college partners to support safe, welcoming, and well-organized events.
  • Student, College & Community Engagement:
    • Serve as a liaison between Student Life, Athletics, student organizations, and other College departments to develop opportunities that connect athletic events with the broader JCCC student experience.
    • Coordinate opportunities for students and community partners to participate in performances, promotions, volunteer activities, and other game-day experiences.
    • Develop relationships with sports organizations and other community partners when those partnerships directly support JCCC engagement goals. 
  • Event & Outreach Management:
    • Lead the planning and execution of athletics recognition programs and special events, including Academic Awards Night, Alumni Events, youth workshops, Hall of Fame activities, and other designated programs.
    • Collaborate with appropriate college departments to promote designated athletic events through social media, signage, digital communications, and other approved channels.
    • Provide as needed outreach or recruiting support at selected high school competitions and community events when requested and coordinated with Athletics, Student Life, and Admissions staff. 
  • Strategic Marketing & Digital Branding:
    • Design and implement social media and local media marketing strategies.
    • Utilize emerging technology to find new ways to promote athletic teams and branding.
    • Coordinate the design of all signage used to promote home contests.
    • Assess participation, attendance, digital engagement, and other available information to improve future outreach and programming. 
  • Administrative & Financial Operations:
    • Assist with annual budget preparation while tracking and monitoring expenditure.
    • Prepare and manage external vendor contracts and process payments. 
  • Other duties as assigned:
