Starting Salary Range: $16.68 - $21.23 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: Department of Fine Arts at Johnson County Community College is looking for a qualified Part-Time Studio Technician in its Ceramics Area.
Studio Technician's job responsibilities include: Open Studio monitoring. Providing student access and ensuring safe use of the ceramics studio space and equipment. Cleaning tasks may include: wet cleaning surfaces, sinks and equipment. Studio Technician will also assist Studio Manager with kiln preparation, loading and unloading, and kiln firings. Additional tasks may include assistance with glaze preparation and clay mixing. Other tasks may be assigned as needed by the supervisor to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Fine Arts Department.
Required Qualifications:
- Requires an Associates Degree and at least 1 year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Requires a BFA in related discipline or 5 years related experience.

Position details include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical assistance to students.
- Prepare instructional materials for laboratory demonstrations and use.
- Ensure safety procedures are strictly followed and hazards are minimized.
- Analyze and resolve routine and non-routine problems.
- Ensure new equipment and supplies are put away in a timely manner.
- Track and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure facilities and equipment are prepared for faculty and exhibitions are installed and taken down.
- Maintain equipment and confirm equipment is in good working order when checked out/in and ensure appropriate forms are completed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
