Starting Salary Range:  $55,113-$71,677 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: The Manager, Student Activities & Leadership Development supports JCCC’s mission by providing leadership, vision, and oversight for the strategic execution of campus events and essential student-facing services. This role is responsible for enhancing the overall student experience by managing high-impact programming, optimizing student engagement spaces, and ensuring the operational excellence of front-line service areas. As a key bridge between administrative efficiency and student development, the incumbent supervises a diverse team, maintains institutional policy compliance, and leverages data-driven insights to foster a sense of belonging and drive retention across the campus community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Position details include but are not limited to:

  • Institutional Programming & Retention Strategy: Plan, execute, and assess large-scale institutional, social, and educational programming. Design both co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences specifically tailored to foster student belonging and drive institutional retention efforts. Develop and maintain an annual programming calendar that aligns with broader institutional goals and the academic cycle. 
  • Student Service Operations: Provide direct oversight of the Engagement Desk, Student ID services, the Campus Call Center, and Student Lounge. Ensure high levels of efficiency and customer service quality across all frontline student-facing areas. Analyze usage and satisfaction data to identify trends and implement service improvements. 
  • Operational Systems & Compliance: Develop and maintain standardized systems and processes to ensure programs and services are delivered effectively and safely. Ensure rigorous risk management, legal compliance, and budget management for all departmental activities. Maintain and enforce policy and procedural compliance across all supervised units.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships and open lines of communication with all internal and external stakeholders. Partner with campus departments to integrate programming and services into the broader student experience. 
  • Professional Leadership & Innovation: Remain apprised of current best practices in student affairs, student development, and community engagement. Stay current on leadership development models and technological innovations to modernize departmental operations.
