Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Occasional weekend hours), 25 hours per week

Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No

Starting Salary Range:  $18.22-$23.31 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: Provide student supervision and production construction and implementation to the Theatre Program to support its performance and event season.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma and 3+ years of related experience.
  • May assist less-experienced team members.

Necessary Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated safe working knowledge of all tools, materials, and equipment necessary for live performance build and production required, including CAD or hand-based drafting skills
  • Strong instructional, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required to mount program productions
  • Ability to formulate and articulate procedures, expectations, and practices
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, motivation, and team-building skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to motivate student learning
  • Ability to create a positive, challenging, and learning atmosphere
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, staff, team members, and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously

Position details include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise all set, sound, and lighting design and construction for the academic theatre program.
  • Attend all work calls and selected production meetings.
  • Maintain the theatre scene shop Midwest Trust Center (MTC 182), equipment, and tools. 
  • Maintain inventory and procure supplies and materials necessary for ongoing production operations.
  • Work collaboratively and safely with the students and staff involved in department productions, including the Academic Theatre Technical Director.
  • Liaise with MTC staff regarding the scheduling of joint-use equipment and performance spaces. 
  • Maintain a clean work area/set.
  • Ensure safety regulations and guidelines are followed.
