Position Summary: Perform a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties to support Human Resources (HR) operations at Johnson County Community College (JCCC).
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of administrative experience, preferably in a human resources or academic setting.
Required Skills:
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) and HRIS or enterprise systems preferred, including spreadsheet tools utilized to organize, track, and analyze data effectively.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to display good judgment and flexibility.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Willingness and openness to learn and adopt new techniques and approaches.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record management activities.
- Understanding of HR and benefits administrative processes and related compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and correct discrepancies in documentation and data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field preferred.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and the HR team.
- Serve as back-up front office support during the absence of the full-time HR Assistant, by greeting visitors, answering calls, and directing inquiries in a professional manner.
- Assist the Benefits team with administrative tasks such as data entry, document tracking, benefit carrier invoice processing, and benefit carrier reconciliations by reviewing enrollment reports, verifying benefits coverage accuracy, and preparing invoices for payment processing.
- Maintain and update personnel files, records, and databases in compliance with college policies and legal requirements.
- Track and monitor employee documentation, including certifications, evaluations, and contracts, to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
- Prepare and process HR-related reports, forms, and correspondence in support of HR operations.
- Follow established procedures in processing I-9s for new hires into the E-Verify system to verify identity and determine employment eligibility.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including filing, scheduling, and correspondence.
- Additional duties as assigned.
