Pay Range:  $18.22-$23.31 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Conduct Human Resources (HR) administrative support to support general HR operations for the employment and compensation area at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) as the front facing support for the office.

Required Qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent
1-2 years of related work experiences
Organizational skills with keen attention to accuracy and detail
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
Ability to display good judgment and flexibility
Willingness and openness to learn and adopt new techniques and approaches
Strong customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications: HR experience preferred

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support various HR activities and functions, conducting activities such as collecting onboarding documents, imaging documents, and process separations through established processes. 
  • Utilizes the HRIS software to process a variety of software applications updates related to: employment, employee information, and other confidential data. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact and central point of contact for questions and concerns for staff, faculty, or visitors. Manage walk-in traffic and answer phone calls. Utilize independent problem solving skills to answer basic/ general questions for general HR questions. Transfer callers/emails to the appropriate parties and take messages in a prompt and courteous manner. Assist with scheduling when necessary. 
  • Process HRIS employee data changes, such as address, name, degree changes, and employment status changes. Notify Payroll team members and other campus stakeholders when applicable.
  • Assist with data entry as needed. Ensure data accuracy and completeness in HR databases and files. Troubleshoot HRIS system issues as they arise. 
  • Process employment verifications as requested. 
  • Follow established procedures in processing I-9s for new hires into the E-Verify system to verify identity and determine employment eligibility. 
  • Provides support with the processing of audits and presents results to Managers as needed.
  • Assist with the posting, screening, and onboarding process as needed.
  • Supports and acts as backup for the HR department in all areas as needed.
