Pay Range:  $71,500 - $94,000 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Work directly with the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Foundation Executive Director on the design and implementation of a comprehensive plan for developing annual major gift events and planned giving fundraising strategies, securing financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations. Direct all activities related to the Foundations, including planning and executing fundraising events and marketing/communications, developing and implementing strategic initiatives for new and existing revenue and cultivation opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 6+ years of fundraising for a nonprofit organization.
  • Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline.
  • Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of all elements of the fundraising, current information technology and communication methods.
  • Event Management experience.
  • Donor relations experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with internal and external constituents to maximize successful fundraising.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a professional team of administrators and support staff working under conditions of detail, precision and quality on a constant basis.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all fundraising duties with the goal of achieving approximately $3 million in donations annually.
  • Research, analyze, and manage specific fund-raising campaigns that support the Foundation's mission and values.
  • Work with volunteers and staff partners to successfully execute signature fundraising events.

  • Prepare preliminary budgets and cost-effectiveness reports for every annual campaign, responsible for pricing, planning, research, and promotion. 
  • Advise the Executive Director on giving trends from different channels for the organization to make informed decisions.
  • Track the Foundation team's fundraising progress and generate required financial activity reports.
  • Represent JCCC appropriately and effectively at various community functions to network and nurture new and existing relationships. 
  • Recommend process or program improvements when necessary to optimize the program's performance. 
  • Participate in educational programs and professional organizations to enhance knowledge of national trends in fundraising and philanthropy.
