Position Summary: Johnson County Community College is a comprehensive educational institution that values outstanding instruction. A 9-month faculty member in the mathematics department at JCCC is expected to perform the tasks as outlined in the position description including committee work and taking part in the professional and curriculum development. However, instead of spending a majority of time in the classroom, faculty in this particular 9-month position receive the majority of their workload through liaison work with the area high schools in the Quick Step Plus (QSP) partnership.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires an organized, task oriented, deadline sensitive individual who can deal diplomatically and professionally with other QSP instructors, high school instructors, and high school students.

Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics or Statistics.
A minimum of two years of community college teaching experience.
A demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the teaching mission of a comprehensive community college.
A demonstrated strong teaching ability.
A strong understanding of the changing landscape of higher education.
A familiarity with technology used in an educational setting.

In addition, all math department faculty must be able to prepare for and teach mathematics courses, hold office hours, and perform the other duties expected of full-time faculty employed at JCCC. These duties may include developing and revising curriculum, developing and implementing assessment of student learning outcomes, developing and maintaining relationships with academic partners, participating in college and department meetings, serving on committees, and other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, or related field.

Previous experience in teaching community college courses in an online setting will be helpful.
Applicants with some high school experience in a professional capacity will be given preference.
