Position Summary: The Cloud Solution Architect is responsible for working with the team to create, recommend, and implement an overall architecture that will meet evolving infrastructure and application requirements. Duties include working with functional owners and technical team members to plan, create and implement solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, guide the technical direction, and ensure the architecture aligns with best practices for scalability, reliability and efficiency. Provide a strong arsenal of troubleshooting skills including performance tuning, recovery strategies and security best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or other relevant fields of study. Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Strong IT experience and understanding of migrating on-premises to cloud solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience working with enterprise systems such as HR Systems, Student Information Systems, ERP, and Learning Management Systems.
  • Knowledge and skills in Server Compute, Cloud Networking, Data Storage, and Database Services as well as AWS deployment and management services.
  • Knowledge and skills in deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS and implementing security controls and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge and skills in using the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) Understanding of the AWS
  • Well-Architected Framework, AWS networking, security services, and the AWS global infrastructure.
  • Ability to identify which AWS services meet a given technical requirement and to define technical requirements for an AWS-based application.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technology.
  • Highly motivated to work independently and effectively under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years in information technology with at least 3 years of technical leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Certifications in one or more of the following: AWS Solutions Architect Associate (exam SAA-C03), AWS Certified SysOps
  • Administrator Associate (Exam SOA-C02)
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
  • Certifications for UNIX / Linux systems and hardware.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performing lead role in translating business objectives and requirements into functional solutions.
  • Develop high-level and low-level architectural documentation, including diagrams, design patterns and technical specifications. 
  • Owning technical engagements, ensuring timely and successful value delivery.
  • Owning the planning, execution, technical engagement, and outcomes of specific implementation projects and assignments. 
  • Ensuring that all testing requirements and test data are well-prepared and documented. 
  • Leading and/or actively participating in brainstorming sessions to identify areas for process improvements. 
  • Applying existing technologies in designing and developing technical solutions. 
  • Designing and developing technical solutions to meet customer needs and business goals.
  • Reviewing and assessing existing environments. Planning and executing migrations of on-premises workloads to public cloud infrastructure (Rehost, Re-platform, Repurchase, Refactoring, Retain, Retire)
