Position Summary: This part-time administrative assistant position at Johnson County Community College's Dental Hygiene Clinic is well-suited for someone with a combination of administrative, customer service, and dental or academic experience. The role emphasizes creating a welcoming environment and managing key front-office tasks, such as cash handling, data entry, quality control of records, and supporting clinical operations. Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Greet students, faculty, staff, patients, and community members professionally; answer the phone, monitor email, send and receive records from dental offices; maintain the confidentiality of information; answer questions from students, faculty, and clinical patients. 
  • Conduct data entry and quality control of student clinical patient records; verify data is complete and accurate; ensure incorrect or missing data is gathered and returned prior to processing; add and deactivate students and faculty from systems; create reports from all systems for program faculty and director. 
  • Provide feedback to students regarding clinical practice record management by following the documented process outlined on the quality assurance form.
  • Promote the values of integrity, teamwork, and professionalism in the dental setting and value the dental hygiene education profession. 
  • Strictly follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations for healthcare and college entities. 
  • Accurately manage cash handling and balancing of the dental hygiene cash box. 
  • Process and follow up on office supply inventory orders.
