Pay Range:  $15.95 - $20.31 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Support the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) students enrolled in human science classes and faculty by ensuring a safe, efficient, and organized laboratory and classroom environment. The courses the Anatomy Open Lab supports are: BIOL 140 (Human Anatomy), BIOL 144 (Human Anatomy and Physiology), and DHYG 138 (Head and Neck Anatomy). The purpose of the open lab is to provide time for students to enhance their learning that has occurred in the formal classroom setting. The open lab allows students to study in groups or individually. It is not meant to replace the formal learning experience or to serve as a formal learning setting. It is to enrich the student learning process in the Life Sciences by providing them additional time to study and to review models in preparation for tests.

Job Objectives:

  • Assist students in Anatomy Open Lab.
  • Monitor lab areas and enforce lab policies.
  • Maintain security and organization of the lab and its contents.

Required Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completion of Human Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Good Communication skills, including listening with understanding and patience.
  • Ability to work independently, completing required tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to effectively work with a diverse student population.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs.

Must be able to lift and/or transfer 60 pounds. Must be flexible to work evening and weekend hours.
