Position Summary: The Practical Nursing program is growing! And we are looking for 4 long-term care/medical surgical nurses and 1 maternal child/pediatric nurse. Please see below for additional information!

The Adjunct Assistant Professor, Practical Nursing will Teach a maximum of 200 contact hours/semester of lab, clinical and/or simulation instruction for practical nursing students which may include Medical-Surgical Nursing, Maternal-Child Nursing, and/or Long-Term Care Nursing. The person in this position may teach day and/or evening students to meet program needs.
The ideal candidate is one who has demonstrated strong nursing clinical and assessment skills; is comfortable with technology; works well in collaboration with others; is committed to the mission of a community college; is familiar with the scope of practice of an LPN.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Current license as a registered nurse in the State of Kansas or have the qualifications to obtain licensure in Kansas as an RN
  • 1-2 years medical-surgical or long-term care nursing
  • Strong background in medical/surgical, maternal-child or psychiatric nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Nursing
  • 2+ years in medical-surgical or long-term care
  • 3-5 years medical surgical, long term care
