Position Summary: This position conducts, coordinates and documents a variety of workplace and college-based investigations of a confidential and sensitive nature. Works collaboratively with others to deliver efficient and systematic resolutions to investigations.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or other relevant field of study or equivalent work experience
Four years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, high-volume environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and customers
Experience performing with a high level of diplomacy, confidentiality and trust while projecting a professional and positive image
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize objectives and exercise judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities
Ability to respond quickly and constructively to changes or unexpected shifts in priorities
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including software such as Microsoft Office Suite (such as, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher), on-line systems, and Internet

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education and/or program planning

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts internal investigations on behalf of the district concerning violations of school policy, discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct and other employee relations matters; uses appropriate and acceptable standards/methods of investigative practices to complete a thorough investigations; compiles relevant documents, formulates the official investigative case report and provides information to management
  • Gathers, organizes and analyzes complaint information to support written investigative reports; performs initial analysis of all complaints; partners with other team members to determine strategy; prepares and maintains logs, completed reports and other documentation; maintains confidentiality in all instances
  • Researches, investigates and responds to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges and requests for information; research, investigate and respond to unemployment claims and attends unemployment insurance hearings. Functional knowledge of the ADA process, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and related state and federal regulations 
  • Ability to coach/advise employees and management through sensitive HR issues to resolve conflict and seek workable solutions; conduct individual and/or group facilitations to foster effective communication and healthy workplace relationships among employees and management
  • Partner with Learning & Development in proactively identifying training and education for all levels to improve the overall employee experience 
  • Coaching and advising recruitment committee to ensure they meet diversity, equity and inclusion processes 
  • Performs other duties as assigned
