Position Summary: This position will support the Department of Fine Art, Photo & Film by multitasking many responsibilities in the Photography and Filmmaking studios, including but not limited to, taking a significant role in the smooth operation of the facilities and equipment. Examples of duties include supervising open studios, managing inventory, equipment maintenance, maintaining photography and video equipment, assisting faculty, staff, and students, and assisting with installing and uninstalling exhibitions.

Required Qualifications:

  • minimum of Associates degree in photography, filmmaking or directly related field, or 5 years
  • experience in the field of photography or filmmaking
  • familiarity with both digital and analog photographic process and equipment
  • experience in creating photographs for fine arts and/or experience in creating video art
  • familiarity with digital filmmaking processes, cameras, equipment and Adobe Creative
    Cloud software
  • evidence of reliability
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to effectively work with a diverse population
  • ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team player
  • demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • ability to lift at least 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • expert level skills in Adobe CC
  • expert level in digital and analog photographic processes and equipment
  • expert level in filmmaking processes, cameras, and equipment
  • familiarity to expert level skills in DaVinci Resolve
  • experience as listed above and experience with gallery exhibitions

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage Inventory for Filmmaking & Photo Performance is acceptable when: a. Equipment is maintained in a timely manner b. New equipment is entered into the system in a timely manner c. Problems with equipment are relayed to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Supervise Open Computer Labs & Shooting Studio Performance is acceptable when: a. Labs are opened & closed as scheduled b. Students are adequately assisted c. Labs are kept clean & maintained d. Rules are properly enforced.
  • Assist Faculty in and out of the classroom Performance is acceptable when: a. Equipment is adequately prepared for faculty b. Facilities are adequately prepared for faculty c. Exhibitions are installed & deinstalled in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee the equipment check-out room a. The Equipment check-out facility is staffed on schedule b. Equipment being checked-out must be fully accounted for c. Equipment being checked-in must be fully accounted for.
