Adjunct Assistant Professor, Automation Engineer Technology Overland Park Main Campus
The Industrial Maintenance/Automation program is seeking a qualified candidate for Adjunct. Responsibilities include teaching sections of courses within this program (Maintenance Principles, Fluid Power, Electrical Theory, PLC and Robotics) during both daytime and evening hours, as well as participation in professional development and service to the division, college and community. Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor. Required Skills: Thorough knowledge of NEC Ability to use curriculum to lecture and demonstrate within a class or lab environment. Knowledge of safety in the industrial maintenance field. Ability to work with a variety of industrial tools and operations including pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe bending, rigging and lifting. Preferred Skills: Industry recognized certification. At least two years of experience teaching in a vocational setting. Prior experience developing curriculum related to industrial principles.

The Custodian/Mechanic performs skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of custodial equipment like buffers, vacuums, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, etc. while also providing a wide range of custodial duties to maintain clean, orderly, and safe campus facilities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all cleaning operations are supported by properly functioning machinery and tools, minimizing downtime, reducing disruptions, and maintaining operational efficiency across campus facilities. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance on custodial equipment, disassemble machines to repair or replace broken parts, including cords, motors, and bearings, and ensuring that all custodial machinery operates safely and effectively. The position is also responsible for managing parts orders, overseeing custodial equipment inventory, and performing comprehensive asset management through the FAMIS system to track, maintain, and optimize the use of all custodial equipment. In addition, the Custodian/Mechanic provides recommendations to management regarding equipment replacement, or upgrades to maintain operational efficiency and uphold safety standards.

The Student Support Technician serves as the first point-of-contact for JCCC student support. This position is responsible for initial triage and assistance in determining the resolution of student issues, escalation of issues to higher level technical support professionals when necessary, and reporting of trends when requests appear to be out of the ordinary. The Student Support Technician will also be directly involved in the JCCC knowledge management process.
Adjunct Japanese Professor Overland Park Main Campus
The Foreign Language department is seeking a Japanese adjunct professor to substitute and/or teach Elementary and Intermediate level Japanese language courses in the evening on Zoom or in person. JCCC is located in Overland Park, KS, the second largest city in the state of Kansas and part of the greater Kansas City Metro. The Kansas City Metro is known for its museums, restaurants, and music and art scenes. JCCC is similarly dedicated to creating and maintaining a rich cultural community, with an award-winning contemporary art museum and center for the performing arts located on campus. The Foreign Language Department is part of the Communications Division. Many of our students are non-traditional, military veterans, immigrants, international and first-generation college students. JCCC has a diverse student population and is dedicated to increasing its diversity. The successful applicant for this job will teach the equivalent of 5-10 credit hours per semester in Japanese or will serve as a substitute for day and/or evening courses. This person will perform other duties expected of adjunct faculty, to include collaborating and working successfully with other full-time and adjunct faculty in the Foreign Language department and other duties as assigned. Additional responsibilities: Provide extra and co-curricular opportunities for Japanese language students. Participate in the planning and administration of all departmental initiatives. Participate in on-campus events promoting languages. Complete ACTFL and/or other departmental training. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Candidates will be interviewed using zoom and will be asked to demonstrate a 30 minute Zoom class.
