Assistant Professor, Hospitality Management Overland Park Main Campus

The CLEAR program instructor will teach postsecondary academic, enrichment classes and/or social skills to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a college environment during the CLEAR Saturday program. The instructor is responsible for developing curriculum and providing classroom instruction. This position will be responsible for teaching a Hobby Exploration and a Walking for Health class for the spring semester on Saturday mornings.

Adjunct Clinical Dental Hygiene Instructor Overland Park Main Campus
This position is a team instructor for clinical dental hygiene courses. Adjunct clinical faculty will be assigned to instruct second year students while working with clients in the campus dental hygiene clinic. Current need is Monday 7:30am to 5:30 pm and Wednesday 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The Foreign Language department is seeking a Spanish adjunct professor to teach Elementary and Intermediate level Spanish language classes. JCCC is located in Overland Park, KS, the second largest city in the state of Kansas and part of the greater Kansas City Metro. The Kansas City Metro is known for its museums, restaurants, and music and art scenes. JCCC is similarly dedicated to creating and maintaining a rich cultural community, with an award-winning contemporary art museum and center for the performing arts located on campus. JCCC is looking for a diverse pool of applicants for a part-time adjunct faculty position in the Foreign Language Department to teach and/or substitute Elementary or Intermediate level Spanish in the day or evening in the summer, fall and spring semesters on campus or on Zoom. The Foreign Language Department is part of the Communications Division. Many of our students are non-traditional, military veterans, immigrants, international and first-generation college students. JCCC has a diverse student population and is dedicated to increasing its diversity. The successful applicant for this job may teach the equivalent of 3-10 credit hours or serve as a substitute professor. This person will perform other duties expected of adjunct faculty, to include collaborating and working successfully with other full-time and adjunct faculty in the Foreign Language department and other duties as assigned.

Adjunct faculty serve multiple roles in the Fire Science Department and are expected to serve as teachers, mentors, and facilitators. Faculty are expected to assist in developing the semester schedules, monitoring and reporting grades, ensuring class safety and proper use and storage of department equipment. Adjunct faculty are responsible for special projects that provide job shadowing opportunities, simulations, and active learning environment training for students. Adjunct will be expected to drive department vehicle and trailer with fire equipment to and from trainings.

Proctor will proctor and train potential candidates in the National Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT). Proctors will properly set up the eight CPAT stations and equipment prior to the test, accurately, safely, and confidentially proctor the test and accurately document the outcome to ensure test paperwork is properly handled.  Demonstrate - will train and demonstrate potential candidates on the eight skill stations and equipment of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT). Proctors will properly set up the eight CPAT stations and equipment prior to the test, validate the operation of the skills stations, and the testing conditions prior to the test, demonstrate the skills stations.

The ideal candidate would be expected to instruct students in lecture and/or lab for either Principles of Chemistry, General Chemistry I, General Chemistry II or Organic Chemistry. The ideal candidate would need to be able to teach face-to-face starting in Jan 2025 for the spring semester.
