Starting Salary Range: $73,109-$96,115 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: Provides direction and oversight of library services. Work with faculty and staff to support the current usage and future planning for the library program. First-level manager. Manages the activities of supervisors and/or individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited graduate program.
- 10 years of library experience.
- Five years of professional experience in an academic library that demonstrates a broad knowledge of the field with demonstrated leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Secondary masters degree or doctorate
- Strong advocate and campus collaborator for the library programs and services as part of the community college including involvement in campus-wide committees
- A track record of progressively more responsible administrative, management, or leadership experience, preferably in an academic library with an emphasis on strategic planning, budget management, staff development, and emerging technologies
- Proven successes in the development, delivery, and assessment of library collections and services that support teaching, learning, and scholarship
- Familiarity with trends and best practices in higher education and academic libraries
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the core tenets of academic librarianship as articulated by the American Library Association’s Bill of Rights, Intellectual Freedom Principles for Academic Librarians, and Code of Ethics, as well as the Association of College and Research Libraries’ Framework for Information Literacy
- Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, especially as they apply to the work of building and maintaining a respectful, collegial, and inclusive work environment
- Demonstrated leadership and communication techniques that exemplify transparency and accountability, that build trust between and among individuals and groups, and that elicit creativity, commitment, and high performance from employees
- Support for the professional development and growth of the library faculty and staff
- Demonstrated understanding of community college environment and the needs of first year students

Position details include but are not limited to:
- Manage budgets and funding needs in relation to demands for library services. Partner with faculty/staff, the Procurement office, and external vendors for renewals and purchasing.
- Contribute to a productive workforce through personnel management, hiring, recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training staff.
- Develop, guide, and communicate the overall vision and departmental goals to library staff and administration.
- Ensure change management strategies are employed to ensure effective implementation of change and acceptance by all stakeholders.
- Anticipate and maintain awareness of user needs and suggestions through customer service surveys, complaint logs, and other means.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all aspects of the organization that impact users (mission and vision, policies and procedures, collections and services, and system-wide strategies).
- Support and develop strategic partnerships with division instructional programs and direct contact with students, offering support from library faculty and staff.
- Participate in appropriate professional and scholarly associations and organizations by maintaining membership and/or accreditation.
