Job Summary

The Student Media Coordinator is responsible for the journalistic, logistic and budgetary support of the multi-platform student led The Campus Ledger, including online and video operations. Serving as the adviser, the coordinator integrates these entities into the broader operations of the Student News Center and serves as a liaison between both internal and external publics.

Additionally, the Coordinator seeks out opportunities to include the greater student populations in activities that formally integrate students at large into the Student News Center. Opportunities include, but are not limited to offering presentations and workshops on media topics (news, video, social media, etc.).

 

Required Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related filed
Background and experience in working with any or all of the following:
Newspaper web production
Video production environment
Strong writing skills
Demonstrated experience working with students in various media forms
Ability to present programs related to media topics that incorporate the greater campus community
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines
Detail orientation and a concern for quality work

 

Preferred Qualifications

Advising student groups and organizations
Work with student journalism in a college campus environment
