Starting Salary Range:  $20.93-$26.94 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: The Global Engagement Study Away Coordinator supports JCCC by managing the end-to-end administration of international education programs to advance campus internationalization. This role is responsible for advising students throughout their global journey, managing partner relationships, and overseeing program logistics, including credit transfers and financial processes. Through strategic outreach and event coordination, the incumbent promotes global engagement and supports the growth of intercultural initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; at least one-year related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least intermediate proficiency in Japanese language (B2/JLPT N3) and/or intermediate proficiency in Spanish (B2).
  • Experiencing studying or working in Japan, Spain, or Mexico.

Position details include but are not limited to:

  • Study Away Program Administration:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with partner institutions for traditional study away programs.
    • Collect and process student application materials and coordinate enrollment with partner schools.
    • Organize and conduct pre-departure orientations for study away participants.
    • Interpret and process transcripts from partner institutions and ensure they are recorded on the JCCC transcript.
    • Maintain and update approved transfer course equivalencies and coordinate approvals with academic departments.
    • Liaise with the Business Office to collect student fees and track program-related expenses.
    • Coordinate with Financial Aid to ensure proper financial disbursement for study away students.
  • Student Advising and Support:
    • Advise students on study away opportunities aligned with their academic goals and degree plans.
    • Guide students through the application, acceptance, orientation, and evaluation processes.
    • Maintain communication with students studying abroad and provide ongoing support.
    • Assist with billing, financial questions, and logistical issues related to participation.
    • Provide advising and support during evenings, weekends, and program departures as needed. 
  • Promotion and Outreach:
    • Promote and market study away opportunities across campus.
    • Present information about international programs in classrooms, information sessions, and campus events.
    • Collaborate with faculty to secure class presentation opportunities each semester.
    • Work with Marketing to create and maintain promotional materials.
    • Promote study away scholarships and advise students on scholarship applications, including the Gilman Scholarship. 
  • International Programs and Events:
    • Coordinate and support international and intercultural programs and campus events.
    • Assist in planning major events such as International Education Week, Explore the World, Global Connections, and study away fairs.
    • Chairs the Global Events and Activities Sub-Committee.
    • Collaborate with campus offices (scheduling, publicity, facilities, campus police, etc.) and external vendors to coordinate logistics, as needed. 
  • Global Engagement Initiatives and Office Operations:
    • Assist with coordination and administration of international grants and partnerships.
    • Support faculty-led study away programs, the Global Awareness Program, and other Global Engagement initiatives.
    • Track program budgets and maintain office inventory and resources.
    • Support the Director in advancing campus internationalization initiatives related to student success, professional development, and curricular enhancement. 
  • Other duties as assigned:
