Starting Salary Range: AJCR $1,208-$1,344 per credit hour and in accordance with the adjunct table and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: The Education Department at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is looking for Adjunct Faculty who can teach education courses in person and/or online following departmental guidelines for the courses. Courses are taught on an "as needed" basis. Courses to be taught include Introduction to Teaching; Foundations of Early Childhood Education; Survey of the Exceptional Child; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for K-12 Educators; Technology in Education for K-12 Educators; Families in Society; Child Health, Safety and Nutrition; and Independent Study. Adjunct Faculty need to be a resident of Kansas or Missouri and need to be able to attend occasional meetings on campus in Overland Park, Kansas. Review of applicants will begin immediately.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Education or and Education related field, e.g., Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, or Educational Leadership.
- Professional teaching experience in either early childhood or K-12 setting.
- Ability to develop and maintain supportive relationships with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to support student learning and success.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Understanding and use of a Learning Management System, e.g., Canvas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Education or a related field, e.g., Educational Leadership.
- Experience teaching Introduction to Teaching; Foundations of Early Childhood Education; Survey of the Exceptional Child; Diversity,
- Equity and Inclusion for K-12 Educators; Technology in Education for K-12 Educators; Families in Society; or Child Health, Safety and Nutrition.
- At least one year of community college teaching experience.
- Understanding and use of the Canvas Learning Management System.
- Willingness to teach in person during the day or evening.
