Position, Department: Financial Aid Specialist, Student Success & Engagement

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week

Pay Range: $17.82-$22.80 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: The main responsibility of this position will be the daily oversight of Official and Unofficial Return of Title IV Aid process and ensure accuracy in reporting and timeliness to the Department of Education and Financial Aid Office. The position will also assist with Post Withdrawals, reviewing daily disbursement to ensure accurate payment of financial aid and working daily, monthly and semester accounting reports. Serve as a liaison to the Bursar Office. Manage and assist in Courses in Program of Study process. Reconcile various accounts including outside scholarship funds of over $1 million. Perform specialized accounting work requiring specific knowledge of the principles of accounting and financial aid federal regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Two years of formal post-secondary education with 2 years of relevant financial aid/higher education experience
- Two years of administrative/accounting office experience
- Demonstrated ability to complete work with accuracy and thoroughness required
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to effectively use integrated administrative computer systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Banner or other FAMS systems
- Experience with COD or other Department of Education Software

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
Serve as Accounting Coordinator
- Build and maintain a working knowledge of federal regulations related to the R2T4 process. Responsible for official and unofficial R2T4 calculations with accuracy to pass internal and external audits. Communication to students in regard to any adjustments in financial aid. Serves as the subject matter expert for R2T4. Monitor daily disbursement report. Process daily and weekly accounting reports. Monitor Accounting inbox and respond to student emails. Receive and process Notetakers and AmeriCorps payment requests. Reconcile various financial aid funds to ensure that accounts are balanced and in compliance. Update and review student inquiries about Courses in Program of Study (CPOS).
Serve as Bursar Office Liaison
- Assist and support Bursar Office with student accounts including proper disbursements and refunds . Process reallocations forms for book advances, dining funds, etc.
Serve as Financial Aid Department representative
- Support and assist students with inquiries, questions and problems. Assist with other inter-departmental task and assignments upon request, including but not limited to answering incoming phone calls and assisting at the front desk.
Serve as Student Services Representative
- Assist and support other student services departments upon request.
