Pay Range:  $71,500 - $94,000 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Manage and oversee the federally funded Capital Access Center (CAC) program that provides expert loan consulting and training to current and prospective business owners and manages bank-lender relationships within Kansas.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline.
  • Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in business banking, loan production, underwriting, loan brokerage, and loan package development.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement strategies, processes, and systems that support maximum economic impact. Contribute in a variety of ways to the annual Small Business Association (SBA) economic impact goals required of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), including those tied to a number of clients, advising hours, and capital infusion. 
  • Prepare and manage the annual grant budget, ensuring the continuation of the CAC program. Manage the budget and staff to meet performance expectations. Ensure CAC efforts align with the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) strategic plan. 
  • Provide individual advising and assistance to clients and Kansas SBDC statewide members in the areas including financial projections, cash flow analysis, financial statement analysis, recasting, accounting and financial reporting standards/processes, business plan development/feedback, and other areas of capital advising. 
  • Educate clients on funding sources and accessing capital.
  • Demonstrate effective interaction skills to accurately diagnose clients’ readiness and needs. Employ strategies, processes, and systems that support the recruitment of new clients, client satisfaction, and retention. 
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct training seminars targeting the capital needs of small businesses and capital access advising methods and lending relationships for Kansas SBDC team members statewide.
  • Develop educational materials and marketing collateral to support the deployment of CAC services to appropriate clients. Create curriculum, articles, social media content, and other materials to support CAC training.
  • Promote general awareness of the Kansas CAC, SBDC, and JCCC programs. Make presentations to area organizations, arrange media coverage for clients, attend JCCC functions, participate in regional networking events, and get involved with local professional organizations.
  • Write ‘Success Stories’ about Kansas SBDC clients. Collaborate with the client coordinator to participate in special events.
  • Establish and nurture effective working relationships with agencies, banks, non-bank lenders, and government representatives that provide assistance to small businesses through visits to their locations and participation in joint projects.
