Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week

Pay Range:  $20.02-$25.77 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Coordinate and manage the processing of all scholarships, including scholarship development and administration. Serve as initial point of contact for Johnson County Community College (JCCC) scholarships. Assist with scholarship marketing campaigns, outreach events (including some before/after-hours), representation, and presentations for the JCCC Financial Aid Office both internally and externally.

Required Qualifications:

  • Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline and able to take initiative.
  • Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, and non-verbal), including public speaking.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively resolve problems.
  • Ability to adapt, learn, and remain flexible.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to establish priorities.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion in role and in dealing with sensitive student information.
  • Knowledge working with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn and utilize new systems for job processes quickly and efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work evening/weekends occasionally, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Title IV US Department of Education rules and regulations to ensure student files are in compliance for receiving Title IV aid.
  • Experience working with financial aid and scholarships.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the award and disbursal of scholarship funds and monitor scholarship criteria adherence.
  • Function as the primary contact and liaison for scholarships on campus for students, Financial Aid office, Foundation office, Student Activities, Athletics, campus departments, staff, high school counselors, outside donors, and agencies.
  • Serve as the liaison and internal campus outreach to assist various departments with selective admissions or one year designated programs with completion of the financial aid process.
  • Develop and conduct presentations of financial aid information to various academic departments and admission prospects.
  • Support and assist students with inquires, questions, and problems with the scholarship process. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of all Federal Title IV, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Regularly review website, program materials, and applications to ensure financial aid scholarship information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Consistently evaluate processes, data trends, and analysis to recommend enhancements. 
  • Attend required meetings and applicable professional development training sessions.
