Pay Range:  $53,900 - $70,100 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Coordinate and implement the design, installation, integration, maintenance, and technical support of all department technology, including video, Radio Frequency (RF), fiber optic, and data network infrastructure. Configure LAN and WAN networks to support video transmission; provide computer and networking support within the department; and provide technical support for digital signage and associated Emergency Alert System (EAS), healthcare simulation and journalism labs, athletics, and videoconferencing support to other campus departments.

  • May mentor less-experienced team members.
  • Requires an Associate's degree and 4+ years of related experience.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Implement the latest technologies to facilitate video productions, broadcasting, and live streaming on campus and worldwide using Audio Visual (AV) over Internet Protocol (IP), Dante audio, NDI video, SDI over fiber, QAM transcoding, satellite signal distribution, RF signal distribution, and other associated technologies. 
  • Research, design, coordinate, and physically install complex video production control rooms and other technical sub-systems, including fiber, copper, and wireless networks installed across campus to support real-time transmission of audio, video, and control data.
  • Configure and document network settings for IP and DNS addresses, VLANs, routing, and switching to support and optimize high-definition audio and video transmission, as well as device control and video data storage. 
  • Coordinate the data storage, network, and Information Technology (IT) needs of the department by maintaining, repairing, upgrading, and optimizing the department’s data servers, computer workstations, and network infrastructure. 
  • Provide technical support to the department’s videographer team for audio, video, lighting, and computer equipment, as well as the broader college for the campus-wide digital signage system, healthcare simulation labs, college video walls, athletics multimedia scoreboard system, and game live streaming systems. 
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software for the technical environment to ensure video production, distribution, and maintenance equipment is up to date and meets current and future video production needs. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to video equipment and associated RF, fiber optic and data networks, video production facilities, and subsystems campus wide, including circuit & component level repair and soldering. 
  • Responsible for the development, storage, and distribution of all operational and technical documentation associated with the video production areas, equipment, systems, and associated subsystems.
