Adjunct Assistant Professor - Engineering Overland Park Main Campus
JCCC is looking for applicants for a part-time faculty position in the Engineering Department. The ideal candidate would be expected to instruct students in the Engineering Orientation class. The intent of this course is to introduce students to the engineering industry and the engineering problem-solving process, and to help each student make the best career decision. JCAE Office Assistant Overland Park Main Campus

Adjunct Assistant Professor, Philosophy Overland Park Main Campus
JCCC is looking for a diverse pool of applicants for two part-time philosophy faculty positions in the Department of Philosophy and Religion. The ideal candidates are expected to teach Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, and Logic and Critical Thinking. They will perform other duties expected of part-time faculty, including being able to meet with students, developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes, and other duties as assigned. They will be available to teach online and/or face-to-face starting in the fall of 2024, with potential for teaching in spring 2025. Teaching assignments could be any combination of face-to-face (day or evening), online, or using teleconference software like Zoom. Teaching assignments are subject to change as needed. JCCC educates a large, diverse student body. Many of our 18,000 students are non-traditional, military veterans, immigrants, international, and first-generation college students. Evaluates market conditions, defines needs with departments, and manages sourcing through various bidding methods. Reviews, establishes, negotiates, and manages contracts for the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Procurement Department. Leads and manages daily activities in the absence of the Procurement Director.
English Connections Instructor West Park (WPK)
Provide English instruction to students who are transitioning from basic life-skill English classes into GED-level academic coursework, college transition or higher career placement. Instruction will be in reading, grammar, writing, vocabulary development, civics, and digital literacy at an intermediate to low-advanced level. Development of daily lesson plans to keep student attention, adhere to state and local academic standards and increase student success. Facilitate standardized testing for benchmarking. Engage community volunteers to assist with one-on-one instruction with learners. Create reports and maintain records. Participate in professional development events.
Child Care Aide Overland Park Main Campus
Aid in the preparation and implementation of a program appropriate for a designated group of young children when assigned to fill in for other staff members at the Hiersteiner Child Development Center (HCDC).
Marketing Specialist Overland Park Main Campus
The Marketing Specialist provides support for the Workforce Development & Continuing Education department to produce efficient and effective marketing campaigns. Professionally communicates with all levels of staff, affiliates, clients, and vendors. The position is customer service focused while executing tasks, and processing and accurately tracking information using documents, spreadsheets, databases, and other technology resources available.
Director, Fire Science Overland Park Main Campus
The Director of Fire Science, recommended by the division dean, is charged with administrative responsibility for specific program(s) and areas of discipline concentration within the division structure. In reporting to the dean of the division, the director manages the respective department in compliance with local, state and professional education essentials and practice; recommending personnel for hiring and termination and conducting performance reviews; proposing and implementing the program strategic plan and budget; maintaining open communication channels between the program and all levels of the college and internal and external communities of interest; actively recruiting and retaining students; contributing to division and college activities and committees; conducting ongoing review of program policies, procedures and outcomes; and representing the program and college through community and professional activities and organizations. The director is also involved in fostering departmental affiliations and relations; coordinating the didactic and clinical curriculum; and facilitating matriculation of students through a selective admission process and transition to professional credentialing and practice.
Part Time Registered Nursing Clinical Instructor Overland Park Main Campus
JCCC is seeking part-time registered nursing clinical instructors for the fall 2024 semester, to teach in an KC area hospital one day/week. Clinical areas are varied, including medical/surgical, cardiac care, and possibly obstetrics and pediatrics.

CoLab Support Specialist Student Agency Overland Park Main Campus
The primary job is to support JCCC’s Student Agency. Responsibilities will include project management, meeting with students, clients, faculty, and providing information about Student Agency to the community. When not working with Student Agency, attention will be given to the CoLab, JCCC’s Collaboration Center, supporting its mission to create collaborative, experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty which include responsibility for space and event management, physical scheduling, virtual scheduling, webinar support, daily facility maintenance, light technical support and superior service for faculty, staff, students, and community visitors. Demonstrate and troubleshoot technology usage in the workspaces. Learn new technologies and train faculty and students. Support promotional efforts on behalf of the CoLab through appropriate social media and signage. Any other duties as assigned. Student Agency is a collaborative initiative supported by the JCCC CoLab that connects students, faculty, and local businesses to bring their projects to life utilizing the state-of-the-art resources readily available on campus.
