English Connections Instructor West Park (WPK)
Provide English instruction to students who are transitioning from basic life-skill English classes into GED-level academic coursework, college transition or higher career placement. Instruction will be in reading, grammar, writing, vocabulary development, civics, and digital literacy at an intermediate to low-advanced level. Development of daily lesson plans to keep student attention, adhere to state and local academic standards and increase student success. Facilitate standardized testing for benchmarking. Engage community volunteers to assist with one-on-one instruction with learners. Create reports and maintain records. Participate in professional development events.
Child Care Aide Overland Park Main Campus
Aid in the preparation and implementation of a program appropriate for a designated group of young children when assigned to fill in for other staff members at the Hiersteiner Child Development Center (HCDC).
Marketing Specialist Overland Park Main Campus
The Marketing Specialist provides support for the Workforce Development & Continuing Education department to produce efficient and effective marketing campaigns. Professionally communicates with all levels of staff, affiliates, clients, and vendors. The position is customer service focused while executing tasks, and processing and accurately tracking information using documents, spreadsheets, databases, and other technology resources available.
Director, Fire Science Overland Park Main Campus
The Director of Fire Science, recommended by the division dean, is charged with administrative responsibility for specific program(s) and areas of discipline concentration within the division structure. In reporting to the dean of the division, the director manages the respective department in compliance with local, state and professional education essentials and practice; recommending personnel for hiring and termination and conducting performance reviews; proposing and implementing the program strategic plan and budget; maintaining open communication channels between the program and all levels of the college and internal and external communities of interest; actively recruiting and retaining students; contributing to division and college activities and committees; conducting ongoing review of program policies, procedures and outcomes; and representing the program and college through community and professional activities and organizations. The director is also involved in fostering departmental affiliations and relations; coordinating the didactic and clinical curriculum; and facilitating matriculation of students through a selective admission process and transition to professional credentialing and practice.
Part Time Registered Nursing Clinical Instructor Overland Park Main Campus
JCCC is seeking part-time registered nursing clinical instructors for the fall 2024 semester, to teach in an KC area hospital one day/week. Clinical areas are varied, including medical/surgical, cardiac care, and possibly obstetrics and pediatrics.
