Pay Range:  $22.65-$29.31 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Promote the most effective use of college funds in acquiring commodities and services. Evaluate market conditions, define needs with departments, and manage sourcing through various bidding methods. Review, establish, negotiate, and manage contracts for the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Procurement Department. Lead and manage daily activities in the absence of the Procurement Director.

Required Qualifications: Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Requires a bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and investigate sources of supply and manage the processes to seek competitive pricing and maximum value through Request For Quote (RFQ), Request For Bid (RFB), Request For Proposal (RFP), piggyback opportunities, and cooperative purchasing agreements. 
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and efficiently and in compliance with procurement policies and operating procedures. 
  • Establish, review, negotiate, and manage contracts. 
  • Track vendor costs, contract spending, and other data as assigned and prepare various reports.
  • Compose monthly activity award recommendations and renewal notices for executive management and Board of Trustee approval.
  • Support supplier diversity through participation in vendor fairs, outreach, and other Procurement department initiatives.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain professional relations with departments and vendors.
