Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday- Friday 8:00-5:00, 40 hours per week

Pay Range:  $16.50 - $20.63 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Pay Grade: 51.51

Position Summary: Ensure the timely, accurate and compliant processing of financial aid requests as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree
Two years of financial aid experience. Experience may substitute for a degree.
Ability to make judgments and decisions based on experience with federal processes.
Strong interpersonal communication skills required with an emphasis on problem solving and the ability to advise and make recommendations in an effective manner.
Basic computer knowledge (windows)

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Process federal and institutional financial aid. This includes manually tracking, reviewing, verifying, and awarding files. Processing of Special Reports. Assist in Imaging needs as assigned. Performance is acceptable when: a. Files are effectively managed and processed as assigned. b. JCCC policies and Title IV Department of Education regulations are followed to process and properly verify and award files. c. All files awarded have a high rate of accuracy and timeliness. d. All outside forms are completed accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Serve as a Financial Aid Department representative. Support and assist students with inquires, questions, and problems while answering incoming phone calls and at the front desk. Assist with other inter-departmental tasks and assignments upon request. Performance is acceptable when: e. Positive and cooperative relationships are established with other members of the department. f. Changing priorities within the department are met with flexibility and adaptability. g. Students receive the service and information needed in a timely and favorable manner. h. Knowledge, judgment, and independent decision making resolving questions, problems, and issues are demonstrated.
  • Serve as a Student Services Representative to support and assist students. Assist with other departments upon request. Performance is acceptable when: a. Positive and cooperative relationships are established with other members of the division. b. Changing priorities within the division are met with flexibility and adaptability.
