Johnson County Community College provides courses for Plumbing Exam Prep and specialized training in Cross Connection Control and Backflow Prevention Certification and Recertification. Qualified instructors are needed to teach continuing education students the fundamental aspects related to the plumbing field. This part-time position will deliver instruction how to read prints, install and test various plumbing fixtures, troubleshoot and make repairs in a lab setting. Training will be delivered through lecture and actual hands-on practice with required equipment. Classes are conducted in a continuing education classroom environment in flexible morning, afternoon or evening sessions during weekdays or weekends.


Required Qualifications

-High School graduate or equivalent
-5 years of relevant work experience
-Knowledge and experience in the process of both new installation and repair of drain, waste, vent piping, water heater systems and the supply of water in various residential and commercial plumbing applications per the IPC and/or UPC.


Preferred Qualifications

-AAS or Bachelor’s degree
-Ability to work day, evenings, and/or weekend hours
-Ability to efficiently use Microsoft office products, especially power-point.
-Current ASSE or Cross Connection Backflow Preventer Certification or the ability to obtain certification and meet minimum requirements to obtain certification through ASSE.
-Experience working in a continuing education training environment
