Job Summary

Johnson County Community College is seeking a diverse pool of applicants to fill two full-time faculty positions in the Mathematics Department. Full-time faculty in this department share a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in the quality and rigor of the mathematics taught. In addition, the faculty are dedicated to the math department vision: "... to provide all our students the tools and opportunities necessary to learn what they need to achieve their goals." JCCC is a comprehensive educational institution that values outstanding instruction.

The successful applicants for these positions will be able to prepare for and teach mathematics courses, maintain scheduled office hours, and perform the other duties expected of full-time faculty employed at JCCC. These duties may include developing and revising curriculum, developing and implementing assessment of student learning outcomes, developing and maintaining relationships with academic partners, participating in college and department meetings, serving on committees, and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments could be any combination of face-to-face or hybrid sections in subjects ranging from Fundamentals of Mathematics through Differential Equations and Business Statistics. The JCCC mathematics department also offers classes such as Business Math and Technical Math I and II which service other departments.

The JCCC mathematics faculty are involved in professional organizations in the region and nationally. All department members are encouraged to travel for professional development and to build collegial relationships with other teaching professionals throughout the mathematics community. While not required, all full-time math faculty are encouraged to become involved in grant and publishing opportunities.

Johnson County Community College, located in Overland Park, KS, is committed to increasing the diversity of our college community. Required Qualifications

Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics or Statistics
Minimum of one year teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics or related field
Demonstrated Knowledge of and commitment to the teaching mission of a comprehensive community college
Demonstrated strong teaching ability
Strong understanding of the changing landscape of higher education
Demonstrated familiarity with technology used in an educational setting
Collaboration with faculty and students in other disciplines
Minimum of two years teaching mathematics or statistics
