Assistant Professor Dental Hygiene Overland Park Main Campus
The JCCC Dental Hygiene program is seeking a full-time assistant professor to teach in both the didactic and clinical components of the program. Duties include 2 days per week in the clinical setting and didactic courses as assigned. This position is a 9-month contract within the bargaining unit of the College to begin August 2026. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective instructional teaching strategies, evaluate student learning and communicate with students. The faculty member will be responsible for preparing and teaching dental hygiene program material. Mentoring students in mastering course content, fostering critical thinking, creating a supportive learning environment, as well as evaluating student learning through course competencies are essential skills for this position. Providing timely formative and summative feedback and communicating regularly with students is required. The successful candidate will also complete all mandatory training, attend, and participate in required meetings, develop collegial collaboration with other faculty members and serve on department, division and/or other College committees. Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday.
Assistant Professor, CNA Olathe Health Education Center (OHEC)
The 12-month Full-Time Assistant Professor in the Health Occupations will perform the duties expected of full-time faculty, including maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. They will also be responsible for ensuring Certified Nurse Aide checkoffs are completed appropriately and within regulatory standards. The individual will assist the director of the Health Occupation program in orienting new faculty as needed and conduct peer reviews of CNA and CMA courses.
Assistant Professor, Information Technology Overland Park Main Campus
This faculty position in the Information Technology department is within the Computing Sciences and Information Technology Division. The Faculty member is expected to possess expert level knowledge in the IT discipline. The Faculty member will carry teaching load in a variety of IT areas including: networking, systems administration, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. The faculty member is expected to demonstrate competence in mastery of subject matter, professional development, teaching performance, evaluation of student learning, participation in college/division/program activities, support college policies and procedures, and contribution to the growth and enhancement of college mission and programs. This position demands a positive team player, with leadership and project management skills. Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Information Systems Overland Park Main Campus
This full-time faculty position begins in August 2026 in the Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) department. CSIS encompasses computer science, information systems, data science/data analytics, and is currently developing applied artificial intelligence courses. Current CSIS needs include developing and teaching courses in data science/data analytics and applied artificial intelligence. Full-time CSIS faculty are required to teach an average of 15 credit hours per semester. Teaching assignments may be any combination of face-to-face, hybrid, online, day or evening, and are subject to change as needed. Regular on-campus presence is required. The selected candidate is expected to demonstrate mastery of subject matter, teaching, and evaluation of student learning. Faculty participate in professional development and college/division/program activities, support college policies and procedures, and contribute to the growth and enhancement of college mission and programs. This position demands collaboration across the department and the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and maintain relationships with industry and academic partners. Assistant Professor, Electronics Overland Park Main Campus
The JCCC Electronics Technology department is seeking a full-time faculty instructor to teach courses in analog and digital electronics. Our program prepares students to work as electronic technicians. All our coursework combines classroom and hands-on laboratory experiences; critical thinking skills emphasized include troubleshooting and analysis. Our digital electronics sequence covers a wide range of topics including binary and hexadecimal number systems, basic Boolean algebra, logic gates, registers, flip-flops, computer architecture, microprocessors, microcontrollers, embedded programming concepts, and analog/digital interfacing. The sequence culminates in a capstone experience where students implement a unique digital system centered around a microcontroller. Applicants wishing to teach in the digital sequence must possess a strong knowledge of digital electronics and current computer architecture, especially embedded systems, along with practical experience in programming languages (assembly to C++) and development environments. Analog and mixed signal skills are essential. Our analog sequence includes an introduction to the field, AC/DC circuit theory (with emphasis on analysis and troubleshooting), semiconductor devices, and electronic communication systems. The applicant needs a strong knowledge of passive devices, diodes, transistors, FETs and the ability to teach students how to analyze and troubleshoot circuits and systems using contemporary test equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other related equipment.
