Adjunct Professor of History

JCCC is looking for a qualified pool of applicants for part-time history faculty positions. The ideal candidate(s) will be qualified and available to teach beginning in fall 2026 (and possibly sooner):
(a) World history since 1500; with the ability to teach the history of Russia, China, India, and/or Eurasia, and other courses as needed; online and face-to-face weekdays.
(b) U.S. history, online and face-to-face weekdays and Tuesday evenings.
Course descriptions can be found in JCCC’s course catalog. In addition to teaching, those hired are expected to perform other duties as assigned. Teaching loads are subject to change. All applications must be submitted via the JCCC jobs portal.
JCCC educates a large, varied student body. Many of our 18,000 students are non-traditional, military veterans, immigrants, international, and first-generation college students.
Adjunct Assistant Professor, Electronics Technology

The JCCC Electronics Technology department is seeking part-time (adjunct) instructors to teach courses in analog and digital electronics. Our program prepares students to work as electronic technicians. All our coursework combines classroom and hands-on laboratory experiences; critical thinking skills emphasized include troubleshooting and analysis.
Our digital electronics sequence covers a wide range of topics including binary and hexadecimal number systems, basic Boolean algebra, logic gates, registers, flip-flops, computer architecture, microprocessors, microcontrollers, embedded programming concepts, and analog/digital interfacing. The sequence culminates in a capstone experience where students implement a unique digital system centered around a microcontroller.
Applicants wishing to teach in the digital sequence must possess a strong knowledge of digital electronics and current computer architecture, especially embedded systems, along with practical experience in programming languages (assembly to C++) and development environments. Analog and mixed signal skills are essential.
Our analog sequence includes an introduction to the field, AC/DC circuit theory (with emphasis on analysis and troubleshooting), semiconductor devices, and electronic communication systems. The applicant needs a strong knowledge of passive devices, diodes, transistors, FETs and the ability to teach students how to analyze and troubleshoot circuits and systems using contemporary test equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other related equipment.
Plumbing Instructor Adjunct

The Plumbing Technology program is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Assistant Professor to teach such topics as plumbing theory, print reading, residential and commercial plumbing and plumbing code. Most courses include laboratory and lecture sections, and are offered during the evening hours.

Adjunct Assistant Professor, Automation Engineer Technology

The Industrial Maintenance/Automation program is seeking a qualified candidate for Adjunct. Responsibilities include teaching sections of courses within this program (Maintenance Principles, Fluid Power, Electrical Theory, PLC and Robotics) during both daytime and evening hours, as well as participation in professional development and service to the division, college and community. Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Skills:
Thorough knowledge of NEC
Ability to use curriculum to lecture and demonstrate within a class or lab environment.
Knowledge of safety in the industrial maintenance field.
Ability to work with a variety of industrial tools and operations including pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe bending, rigging and lifting.
Preferred Skills:
Industry recognized certification.
At least two years of experience teaching in a vocational setting.

Adjunct Assistant Professor, Legal Studies

Johnson County Community College is looking for a diverse pool of applicants to increase its adjunct pool in the Legal Studies Department. This position requires on-campus teaching, but may also include online teaching.
The Legal Studies Department consists of two programs: the ABA-approved Paralegal program and the Business Law program.
Faculty in the Legal Studies adjunct pool teach the equivalent of 0-10 credit hours per semester in Business Law, the ABA-approved Paralegal Program, or both. Adjunct faculty may teach both online and on-campus classes, but ability to teach on the Overland Park, KS campus is required. Instruction should be engaging, experiential, motivating, and effective.
Effective teaching requires, at a minimum
- content expertise;
- sound instructional methods drawn from the scholarship of teaching and learning and from practical experience in the legal field;
- successful communication, including timely and substantive feedback; and
- meeting institutional expectations related to class meetings, availability to students, attendance gathering, syllabi preparation and distribution, grading and maintenance of grade records, confidentiality of records, timely responses to requests for information, and other expectations of the College.

Adjunct Faculty, HVAC

The ideal candidate for Adjunct Assistant Professor HVAC, will have working knowledge and experience working with heat pumps, furnaces, and air conditioning equipment. This position requires the availability to teach between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Monday and Wednesday nights OR Tuesdays and Thursday nights.
